Q) Should I request a Programming Guide if I'm a novice programmer who would like to write an ink jet printer driver?

Ink jet printer driver development is quite complex. You should have competency in areas such as operating system controls, interface protocol programming, image processing methodologies, quality enhancement techniques and lastly the printer control language.

Programming Guide explains the printer language, but it is only one part of the knowledge you will need to develop a printer driver for an ink jet printer.
